Category 1 Licence

A Category 1 Licence allows operators to offer players gambling activities through an Alderney Category 2 licensed platform or another platform licensed by a recognised competent authority, once player verification is complete. Operators can develop their own portfolio of games and activities.

Introductory fee in year one. Fees are calculated on Net Gaming Yield (NGY): £35,000 per annum up to £500k NGY, then a banded fee structure applies up to £30m NGY. Maximum fee includes all activities.

Category 1 Associate Certificate (Outside of Alderney)

This is the foreign based equivalent of the Category 1 Licence and is suitable for businesses based outside of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. There is no requirement to apply through an Alderney company or host your gambling equipment in the Bailiwick.

Introductory flat fee in year one. Fees are banded according to NGY as with a Category 1 Licence, with a banded fee structure applying up to £30m NGY. Maximum fee includes all activities.

B2B Licences

Effecting the gambling transaction, including operational management of a gambling platform.

Category 2 Licence

Any number and type of gambling activity can be approved onto a single Category 2 Licence. Alderney has the widest definition of gambling and gaming and can approve all activities.

An introductory fee of £17,500 applies for the first year. Thereafter £35,000 per year.

Category 2 Associate Certificate

This is the foreign based equivalent of a Category 2 Licence for a gambling platform located outside of the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

An introductory fee of £35,000 applies for the first year. Thereafter £50,000 per year.

Core Services Associate Certificate (CSAC)

A CSAC is required if an operator wishes to provide third party services (gambling software, player fund deposit, company management) to an Alderney licensee.

Annual fee £10,000 p.a
The fee for a CSAC is £10,000 per year.
